About
Danny Bradley
Writer. Doctor. Cruiser. Baker. World of Cruising contributor. CLIA Choose Cruise Member. PhD in Psychology. Passionate about Mental health and wellbeing. Partial to a large slice of cake and a good brew!
Having always been a keen writer, more often for work than pleasure, I thought why not spend time writing for myself and hopefully share some of my passions with the world along the way. So, why The Cruising Baker? It’s a name that combines two of my biggest passions – cruising and baking! Baking has been a large part of my life since before I can remember. Fond memories with my Mum and Nan in the kitchen ingrained a passion for all things flour, egg and sugar. Although I will admit I am no expert (and do make many mistakes along the way), I love to try my hand at new things, along with some classic old favourites.
My interest in travel and cruising came much later. Although I have always had an urge to explore, I hadn’t travelled out of the UK until the summer after my 18th birthday when I embarked on my first cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas. My passion for exploration and cruising was ignited. Several cruises later and I have been lucky enough to make up for lost time.
Beyond The Cruising Baker
Outside my pursuit of cruising and baking, I enjoy photography, gardening, tropical fish keeping and have a love of animals (so you may get the odd post on any of the above!). Professionally, I am a writer and freelance journalist who also creates and manages websites and online media. Moreover, in 2019 I completed a PhD in Psychology, with a focus on cyberpsychology, individual differences and autism. Linked to this is a passion for raising awareness of mental health issues and trying to combat the stigma which is attached to this.
